Induction Generator

A customer was having trouble getting 2 Induction generators connected to the grid, the utility red tape, requirements etc. were very demanding. RLN was asked to assist with completing the testing required by the utility to get the site powered up. Protective relays were tested wiring completed & Verified, The utility finally powered up the site and allowed RLN to close the gensets onto the grid.

The utility demanded the units run at a Power Factor of .9 or better or heavy penalties would apply, The units as tested were .85. RLN researched, located & installed PF correction Capacitors to get the units operating above .9 PF.
